The YPDO is based on the Copperbelt province of Zambia. The global pandemic of COVID-19 has not spared any parts of the globe. The YPDO seeks the services of online volunteers to help promote the ‘gofundme’ campaign among individuals and other potential donors to help raise resources. The volunteer shall promote this fundraiser through social media and other digital platforms. The volunteer shall draft messages. Resources will be used to buy food supplements for the children in our projects during the lockdown. The campaign has been necessitated as most people do not have enough food during lockdown, especially in low income families. The online volunteers shall not be asking for donations but to promote the initiative. The online volunteers shall be provided with the necessary information to accomplish the task. Communications shall be via Skype, telegram and email. The volunteer will not be asked to submit donation requests on behalf of the organization.
Background and objectives:
The Youth Press and Development Organisation is a non profit organisation whose focus is to use sport to impact health education on personal hygiene and environmental awareness. However, most of our participants from low income families need food support during lockdown as they cannot sustain themselves.
Keep this in mind:
Most organizations find the volunteers they need within just a few days and close the opportunities to more applications. So if you see a project that interests you, apply right away and make sure that you show the organization that you have the right skills and motivation for the task!
Online volunteering is rewarding and empowering, but it’s also a serious commitment. When you are chosen for an assignment, the organization is counting on you to complete it.
